Since opening the doors at its first location on Congress Avenue in 1976, the Waterloo Ice House has become an Austin institution. From traditional Texas favorites for breakfast like their chicken fried steak biscuit or huevos rancheros to the more adventurous with dinner items such as the Texas tortilla catfish or the queso chopped steak. Try the praline chocolate brownie for a sweet way to end the meal.
This is a great music venue too with regular shows featuring up and coming artists. So don’t be surprised if you’re listening to the radio one day and you find yourself saying “I saw them at the Waterloo Ice House!”
