The Remington is just minutes away from the Round Rock Farmers Market.

Carrots should be in season soon

Today being Earth Day, I got to thinking about simple, healthy living, and healthy eating. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables is one of the best things we can do for ourselves.

Luckily, The Remington is near an excellent farmers market, which will go a long way to helping you eat a healthy diet.

I love visiting markets. Seeing and smelling all the fresh produce inspires me to eat better. Seeing only what’s in season locally somehow keeps me in tune with the passing of the seasons. Also, buying locally grown produce means a lot less energy was used trucking it and storing it.

The Round Rock Farmers Market meets Saturday mornings, April through November, 8am until noon at 200 West Bagdad Avenue. That’s just minutes away from The Remington.

The market is organized by the Georgetown Farmers Market Association. Take a look at the association’s website. It has information about the Round Rock market and others in the area. It also gives you an idea of what will be available each week.

Have you been to the Round Rock Farmers Market? Would you recommend it?
